On June 21, Saturday, my friend set a run in Kampung Kemensah, at the back of the National Zoo in Ulu Klang, From Kg. Kemensah continues East across the range of hills that separates Ampang and Ulu Klang from Ulu Langat. It emerges at the Sungai Chongkak recreational area, about 1km North of Kampung Batu 18, on the Ulu Langat road.
The entire trail is about 14 kilometres long or even more, however, the kind hearted Hare and his co-hare only set a run for about one hour for the front runner and last runner for about one and the half, If you like hashing in Taman Tun, Penchala Link and Bukit Kiara you'll love this trail.
The trail is located at Kampung Kemensah, the road will turn into double track, with irregular sections of tarmac. The road will lead steeply uphill on several occasions. Just before the road rises steeply again, there will be a single-track trail on the right of the road just behind the rest house. You will enter the jungle here, and it's single-track the rest of the way. They are three junctions on this trail. Turn left at the first junction to go steeply uphill. At the second junction, take left again. Right goes steeply downhill to a waterfall. The final junction is near the top of a climb, where you should take right to go to Sungai Chongkak. the left turn will lead you to Sungai Pusu, just off the Karak Highway toll, at the back of the International Islamic University campus!
The trail is steep in sections. How steep? My friend “Set Me Free” told me compare with other run site like Penchala Link, Bukit Kiara and definitely longer too. Waterfalls, virgin jungle, hushed and excellence air quality to make this area a good run site for us to explore more in the future!
